The AR Manager is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the account receivable management function for Home Health and Hospice. The role will manage the staff responsible for billing, follow-up, credit balance resolution and appeals for all government and third-party claims.
The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements:
Bachelors/Associates degree in business, finance, or healthcare administration preferred; equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement.
At least 4 years Leadership experience
Patient Financial Services experience: 4 - 6 years
Home Health and/or Hospice: 4 - 6 years
Significant understanding of healthcare business and finance principles, with special emphasis on home care accounts receivables.
Experience and knowledge of Home Health conditions of payment.
Experience working with government reimbursement methodology and payment rules with ability to coach staff through claim processing and expected reimbursement using contract provisions or fee schedules.
Experience with state and federal prompt pay laws and with determining accurate patient responsibility and collecting payments remotely.
Knowledge of computer applications and equipment related to work, specifically patient accounting systems and Microsoft products (word, excel, powerpoint, etc)
Strong organizational skills, working effectively in a multi-task environment, prioritizing tasks properly, and completing tasks/projects in a timely manner.
Demonstrated ability in leadership with proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients, families, co-workers, administration, other clinic departments, providers, community agencies, referral sources and other health team members.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and remain flexible under stressful situations.
