Flight Operations SME, Senior

Key Role:

Identify, analyze, and evaluate complex and highly sensitive systems, policies, processes, and instrumentation regarding foreign threats and homeland security. Determine a procedure for solving complex design, integration, and analytical problems. Perform or direct scientific and technical intelligence analysis. Report changes, trends, and implications regarding the design and integration of evolving systems and instrumentation, prepare briefings and reports on analysis methodologies and results, and provide work leadership to junior employees. Provide subject matter expertise Air Force clients on flight operations, including combat operations, training and exercises, live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) integration, and capability, capacity, and readiness. Assist the client with studies and analysis to support training planning, training systems requirements, ready aircrew program (RAP) flying hours program (FHP), operational requirements, analysis of alternatives (AoAs), and the strategy, planning, and programming process (SP3). Demonstrate knowledge of the Air Force Future Operating Concept (FOC) and the role of CAF in multi-domain operations (MDO) across the spectrum of air, space, and Cyber, including Air Dominance 2030 and Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) concepts across the related family of systems and assist the client with addressing their most challenging problems.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with fighter, bomber, and attack operations at the squadron level and in combat within the last 5 years

-Experience at Major Command or HQ USAF in operations, requirements, plans, or programs

-Knowledge of flight operations and training programs, including Ready Aircrew program (RAP), advanced operational training, including weapons school, Air Force and Joint exercises, including the flag exercise series, virtual training, including simulators or Virtual Flag, and live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) integration principles

-Knowledge of key elements of mission readiness at squadron, group, and wing-levels, including training, personnel, and equipment and the MAJCOM approach to balancing capability, capacity, and readiness to meet Combatant Commander requirements for client forces

-Ability to travel to client bases worldwide bases in the Continental US (CONUS)

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

-USAF Aeronautical Orders Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as a flying squadron commander or operations officer

-Experience with 21st-century combat operations

-Experience as 11F for F-22 or F-35, 11B for B-1 or B-2, or Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), including MQ1/9

-Experience on client staff in A5/8, including planning for Global Precision Attack (GPA) advanced weapons, special programs, or F-35

-Knowledge of Cyber or space operations as they pertain to integration with CAF operations

-Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, collaborate, share expertise, and build and maintain client relationships

-Ability to show an excellent reputation as a professional airman

-TS/SCI clearance

-MA or MS degree or Senior Service School
