Job Description

Paul D. Camp seeks a highly motivated individual for the position of Tutoring and Activities Coordinator for the TRIO – Student Support Services Program.

Coordinates the tutoring component of the SSS program. Hires, assigns, and evaluates tutors. Supervises tutors, manages their hours of work and oversees the input of their working hours. Assesses tutorial needs of participants and tutors. Collaborates with faculty and staff, seeks students to be employed as tutors for the college. Coordinates training sessions for tutors, monitors and updates SSS tutoring schedules, maintains accurate records and reports for tutoring. Plans and coordinates activities for the SSS program. Serves as the liaison between SSS and other program activities. Plans and collaborates recruitment of new SSS participants (students enrolled at Paul D. Camp Community College (PDCCC). Performs other duties and activities as requested by Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Human Services field or equivalent years of relevant work experience. At least 3 years of experience in teaching or tutoring. Strong interpersonal communication and leadership. Ability to tutor in one or more disciplines offered by the college. Ability to provide tutor training and supervise tutors. Ability to organize and keep detailed records. Commitment to the philosophy of the comprehensive community college. Demonstrated commitment and ability to help disadvantaged students be successful in college.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to tutor Math and/or English.
