Job Description

The role of the Registrar supports the mission of the College to provide diverse learning opportunities to enhance the quality of life for students and the community by managing student records from admissions to the College through the graduation process. The Registrar maintains all information relative to student enrollment history and the academic requirements for degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

The position manages and supervises and is responsible for the overall processes and maintenance of student records. This position is the institution’s charge person for the Office of Records and requires independent decision-making, coordination, and planning ability. Responsible for deciphering an extensive array of technical and programmatic instructions; to include federal, state, VCCS, and PDCCC guidelines and policies. Using sound judgment will be required to make recommendations to the Dean of Student Services. Maintains a close working relationship with academic deans and other Student Services staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in student development, higher education administration, educational leadership or related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience. Experience in the Office of Admissions and Records.

Experience in a higher education environment. Must possess the ability to work independently and supervise the work of others. Knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations. Knowledge in utilizing PeopleSoft and technology to process queries that support academic records management and other work processes. Ability to maintain accurate academic records and to maintain academic standards and ensure academic integrity.

Criminal history and other background checks will be required of the finalist candidate for the position. Satisfactory reference and background checks are a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in related field and experience working in a community college environment.
