Raytheon Engineering Technician III in Chesapeake, Virginia

Perform operation of ROTHR Consolidated Operations Control Center (COCC) equipment, primarily PC-based platforms. Perform ionosphere propagation assessment, followed by a manual modeling of the ionosphere's layers using PC-based tools. Perform frequency selection by interpreting the ionosphere model and assign the proper RADAR parameters necessary for adequate detection and tracking capability of the designated target type (i.e. surface or air). These parameters include, but are not limited to: range (RG), azimuth (AZ), coherent integration time (CIT), waveform repetition frequency (WRF), and bandwidth (BW). Monitor and modify RADAR resources as necessary to meet tasking parameters. Monitor dwell illumination regions (DIRS) & assist ROTHR tracking software in validating aircraft and surface contacts within the RADAR coverage area. Interpret RADAR returns to identify take offs and landings of aircraft. Apply external communication tools to include establishing communications and setting timing schedules between sites, updating RADAR contact data, operating the global command and communications station (GCCS) terminal & manually copying radio/telephone transmissions. Generate reports and summaries as required. Receive technical guidance and tasking from supervisor or higher-level operator, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Required Skills: -Minimum of three (3) months at Radar/Technician School (school designed to train personnel for independent technical operations). -Two (2) years’ experience in radar operations and control in a tactical watch team environment. -U.S. citizenship is required. Desired: -Three (3) years’ experience in OTH or Phased Array radar operations and control in a tactical watch environment. -Working knowledge of Windows NT operating system. -Previous or current Secret security clearance.
